Fred Smith, Director of Research & DevelopmentMr. Smith is the system integrator for ANGEL. He has been PI on two Phase I SBIRs, a Phase II SBIR, and a Phase III SBIR awarded by the Air Force Research Laboratory to study security in circumstances where the on-site personnel cannot be trusted. He has also been PI on an SBIR awarded by the Office of Naval Research to study security in shipping containers. Mr. Smith is a co-inventor of core ANGEL technology; he is the inventor of the ANGEL defense against root, and a co-inventor of the secure composite container. Mr. Smith is co-inventor on five US patents and four foreign patents on security. sole inventor on two US patents and is sole inventor on several other pending patent applications. Mr. Smith has over twelve years experience consulting in the area of large real time networked systems in the financial industry. His principal client was State Street Bank. Other consulting clients have included MicroTouch, CyberTrust, Chase Addess, Bankers Trust, JP Morgan, Bond Technologies, Inc., and IBM Mexico. Cynthia Smith, PresidentAs ANGEL's President and General Counsel, Ms. Smith works on marketing and sales and manages ANGEL's contracts and its intellectual property. Ms. Smith was formerly a trial lawyer and partner with Posternak, Blankstein, & Lund in Boston. The Smiths previously founded Cave Atlantique, a wine importing and retailing company with stores in Cambridge and Boston. Ms. Smith is a co-inventor on two US patents on security.
